L'école de danse de Québec

Our partners

To raise passions, we could not do without our institutional, academic and cultural partners. Discover how the partnerships developed by L'École de danse de Québec work.

Our cultural partners

La Rotonde

La Rotonde is a Québec-based show presenter specialized in contemporary dance.  On top of offering discounted tickets to L'EDQ's students, La Rotonde is committed to showcasing the creations of young local choreographers which results each year, and this is exceptional, in young L'EDQ graduates having their first creations presented to a live audience.

Like L'EDQ, La Rotonde is part of the Groupe Danse Partout inc.

La Maison pour la danse

La Maison pour la danse is a choreography center providing services that support professional dancers and their development and gives them access to an appropriate, open and rallying space. The fact that L'EDQ's students take part of their classes there enables them to mix with professional dancers and facilitates their integration to the milieu even before they graduate.

Like L’EDQ, la Maison pour la danse is part of the Groupe Danse Partout inc.

Our academic partners

The Cégep de Sainte-Foy

The DEC technique Danse-interprétation is proposed jointly by L’EDQ and the Cégep de Sainte-Foy. The partnership between our two institutions started in 1999 and has grown over the years with, for example, the creation of a Program committee, the revision of the evaluation system, the launch of an annual study trip to France, etc.

The Cardinal-Roy Secondary school

Commission scolaire de la capitale

L’EDQ and the Cardinal-Roy school jointly offer the Danse-Études program for secondary school pupils. This program, created in 2004, meets the expectations of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education with regards to Art projects and regularly evolves thanks to the quality of the partnership between our two institutions (broadened syllabus, timetable better adapted to the pupils' biological rhythm, etc.).

The Berges primary school

Commission scolaire de la capitale

L'EDQ and l'École des Berges jointly propose the Concentration danse program for primary school pupils who wish to indulge in their passion for dance. The partnership between our two institutions started in 2004 and aims, through interactive teaching methods, at developing the young dancers' creativity and motor skills. This program should grow over the years to come.

Our institutional partners

Ministry of Culture and Communications

The Ministry of Culture and Communications is a major institutional partner for L'EDQ given the importance of its contribution and support.

Its recognition of our program is a quality assurance since it is based on : the relevance of our strategy, our ability to innovate, the usefulness of the services we provide to our graduates and to the community of professional dancers, and to the strength of our commitment in terms of sustainable development.

Ministry of education

The Ministry of Education is also a major institutional partner for L'EDQ.

The recognition of the DEC Danse-interprétation proposed by L'EDQ and the Cégep de Sainte-Foy by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education makes us committed not only on an educational level (our students must develop 19 key competences pre-identified with the Ministry throughout the program), but also on an academic level (number of hours of teaching, evaluation process, compliance with the official timetable, etc.).
